Today knowing English is also considered as a status symbol as it easily opens more opportunities for the person. It opens one’s mind to a new culture, economy and is considered to open new horizons. It thereby boosts an individual’s self confidence and contributes to a stronger personality. Knowing the language, doesn’t mean that you are disregarding your native language or getting ‘westernized’, it just makes you smart, educated and definitely opens up lots more opportunities.
